Student fees for the 2023-24 school year with no changes from the previous year were approved by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its June 6 meeting.
The fees cover general student fees, parking, activities, yearbook, instrument rental and lunch fees. All of the fees will remain the same for the 2023-24 school year.
The Board also received a report from Alliance Charter School principal Garrett Zimmerman regarding the renewal of the Alliance Charter contract. With the evolution of Alliance to a 4K through grade 6 model, the contract has been updated. The Board will vote on the contract at its June 20 meeting.
In action items, teaching hires were approved for Andrea Wheeler, Molly Larson, Nicole Olivas-Dimmer, Lori Jage and Claire Sewall at the middle school, Nick Osowski at Spring Road and Chloe Irish at Alliance. Non-certified hires were approved for Nathan Leitermann, Cherish Honer and Sinead Groeschel at the middle school and Kelly King at Clayton.
A retirement was approved for Kathleen Pritzl at Lakeview. Resignations were approved for Avery Behm, Lydia Kent, Sara Mercer, Jennifer Smyth, Kelly Crawford and Jeff Sheptoski at the middle school, Elissa Bergstresser at District Office, Ian Mickelson and Kimberly Niedzwiecki at Tullar, Paige Frosch at Roosevelt, Brooke Gietman and Kelsey Livingston at Coolidge, Marquie Ruopp at Hoover, Emily Hennes at the high school and Carolyn Janssen at Lakeview.
The Board also recognized the boys 1600-meter relay team for its state championship at the state track and field meet over the weekend. Students Ethan Snider, Owen Wise, CJ Fredrickson and Grant Dean were in attendance along with coach Kurt Krueger.
