The 2021-22 financial audit was approved by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its April 18 meeting.
This was the first year the District used the accounting firm of Kerber Rose for its audit. No major issues were found and most of the recommendations were typical across school districts, especially those using new audit firms.
In other action, the Board approved policies for ethics and whistleblowers, physical exams and patient protections. A policy regarding the promotion, placement and retention of students was approved along with a policy regarding the employment of the District Administrator.
In personnel moves, current high school educational assistant Lisa Van Handel was hired as a cross categorical teacher, Christine Barnish was approved as the Shattuck attendance clerk and Peter Vang was hired as a help desk technician. A resignation for Taft custodian Dennis Hill was approved, effective May 9. End-of-school year resignations were approved for Kayla Bloomstrand and Marie Morrissey at Horace Mann, Ashley Michalski at Roosevelt, Maire Radigan, Katherine Jones and Nicole Roen at Spring Road, and Shelli Klapatauskas and Jessica Thompson at Wilson.
The Board honored the high school powerlifting team and coach Joe Lewis on winning four national championships this season, giving them 14 titles in Lewis’ 34-year coaching career. Several of the athletes were in attendance.
It was the final Board meeting for Board members Tom Hanby and Amy Morrissey, who will be departing after completing their three-year terms. Both were recognized for their service.
The next meeting is scheduled for May 2 at 6 p.m.
