Hires of 22 new staff members were approved by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its August 16 meeting.
Certified staff hires included Shelby Schappa and Bradi Ebben at Wilson, Myra DeWet and Catherine Cops at the high school, Margaret Nelson and Jessica Bayer at Shattuck, Jennifer Alberts at Washington, Hope Wreath at Taft and Jensen Flanigan at Coolidge.
Non-certified hires included Nicole Pfotenhauer as a help desk technician, Angela Kramer as the Human Resources substitute coordinator, Toni Pierce as an administrative assistant at the high school and Anastasia Barstow as administrative assistant at Roosevelt/Alliance. Educational assistants hired included Andrea Wheeler, Susan Doctor and Brianna Juneau at the high school, Jessica Christensen at Spring Road, Stacy Hughes and Kayla Pierce at Washington, Robin Eckstein at Roosevelt/Alliance and Kristen Russell at Horace Mann. Shattuck teacher Sara Trochinski will assume duties as the wellness coordinator.
Resignations were approved for Human Resources Director Bo Thao as well as Alyssa Schouten at Lakeview and Hoover, Nicole Ropella at Washington, Korri Kersten at Taft, Sandra Campbell at Shattuck, Taylor Pierce at Roosevelt/Alliance, Renee Reid Roehl at Washington and Lisa Clark at Tullar.
A request was denied by the Board for a waiver of a $1,000 resignation fee for Kylie Hayes, who resigned from Taft in June.
The Board also made its annual adoption of Academic Standards. The standards will be in place for the 2022-24 school years.
An additional meeting will be held on August 30 for the purpose of approving employee hires before the start of the school year.
