The 2022-23 staffing plan was approved by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its March 15 meeting. The Board also approved the 2020-21 financial audit and a plan for donations, sponsorships and naming rights.
The staffing plan will see an increase of 6.54 FTE for the upcoming year. The funding for 6.0 of the positions will come from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund grant program and will consist of literacy and math assistance. Those positions will expire after the 2023-24 school year and impacted staff members will have the opportunity to move into open positions. The other .54 FTE will fill needs at the secondary level.
The District has received interest in donations, sponsorships and naming rights with the construction underway for the new high school and renovations of the existing high school. A plan was approved that establishes the amount of donation required for naming and recognition. The most significant part of the plan is that the donations will have “sunset clauses” where the naming or recognition will expire after a set number of years.
In other action, the hires of three administrators were approved. Jennifer Koenecke was named the assistant principal split between the high school and Shattuck, Braden Frederickson will be the assistant principal at Horace Mann and Amber Zernzach will be the principal at Tullar. Caitlin Hauerwas was approved as a teacher at Lakeview and Kenneth Smith will work in operations at the administration building. End-of-year resignations were approved for Hoover principal Lexi Foerster, Tullar and Taft teacher Cynthia Rosenbluh, Tullar teacher Allison Thompson, high school counselor Natalie Shea and high school teacher Katie Buettner.
In the superintendent’s report, the Board recognized state runner-up wrestler Jacob Herm for his outstanding freshman season.
The next meeting is set for April 5.
