Neenah Joint School District employees will receive at least a 2.0 percent salary increase with the potential for additional increases through state report card success or stipends during the 2021-22 school year following action by the Board of Education at its May 4 meeting.
This marks the ninth consecutive year that NJSD employees will be provided a pool of dollars exceeding the consumer price index for performance-based salary increases. The increases will go to employees after July 1 with no performance concerns or who have not reached the top of their specific pay range. An additional 0.5 percent increase will be added as back pay if the District exceeds expectations on the state report card. Another $200,000 was allocated to distribute as performance stipends.
The Board also approved individual contract renewals for certified staff and administrators for the 2021-22 school year. Non-certified staff members do not have their contracts renewed on an annual basis.
In other action, the Board approved a restructuring of the Business Office by transitioning Amy Gunderson from the Accounts Receivable position into a Business Services Specialist to assist Chief Financial Officer Jon Joch. The position has been open since Joch assumed CFO position following Andrew Thorson’s death in August. It will now be classified as a non-certified staff position and the District will search for an individual to fill the Accounts Receivable position.
Hires were approved for Morgan Johannes for first grade at Tullar, Sarah Raub for Spanish at the high school, Breanna Gosh for Spanish at Shattuck, Tara Caul as an elementary Literacy Coach and Monica Kleuskens for cross categorical at the high school. Also hired were Cory Johnson as operations at Wilson, Jeffrey Dunham as operations at Hoover, Amanda Wolff as an educational assistant at Roosevelt and Emily DeValk as an educational assistant at Washington.
Resignations were approved for Administrative Assistant to Pupil Services Cody Christian, effective May 28, work-based learning coordinator Jayne Latreille, effective June 7, and Lakeview educational assistant Keri Gretebeck, effective June 7.
Board policies were adopted for unauthorized work stoppages and gifts, grants, bequests, advertising and sponsorships.
Brian Epley was re-elected as Board president for the 2021-22 school year and Lauri Asbury was re-elected as vice president. Stefanie Holt will assume the role of treasurer and Deb Watry was elected clerk.
Divers Bailey Schroeder and Abbi Priestley were honored for their top three finishes at the recent state meet and student representative Parker DeDeker was lauded for his work in coordinating a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fundraiser across the District that netted $2,842.
The next meeting is set for May 18.
