An independent hearing officer not associated with the Neenah Joint School District has been appointed to oversee expulsion hearings after approval by the Board of Education at its March 21 meeting.
Previously, the District used lawyers from firms that are part of its legal services contracts for expulsion hearings. Mr. John Thiel from John Thiel Law Offices in Appleton has been appointed to hear future expulsions.
In other action, the Board approved the hiring of Kristi Kimote as Attendance Clerk at Shattuck and the end-of-year resignation of Tullar teacher Jaimie Schuh.
The Board honored the high school fishing team for its second and third place finishes at the state meet as well as boys swimmers Maxwell Boehnlein and Eli Rocke for their performances at the state meet.
The next meeting is set for April 4.
