Neenah High School freshman Av Osero became the school's fourth WIAA Division state girls diving champion in the past five years at Saturday's state meet in Madison.
Osero posted a final score of 508.65 to outscore runner-up Samantha Nickerson of Homestead, who finished at 473.80. Osero led after each round and was the only freshman among the 20 semifinal qualifiers. She had a preliminary score of 225.10 and a score of 355.40 after the semifinals.
Osero joins past Neenah champions Greysen and Hazel Hertting. Greysen won the 2012 state title and Hazel won titles in 2013 and 2014. Neenah has also had four boys diving champions since 2003. All of Neenah's diving champions have been coached by Tim Foulks.
