The Educational Foundation of Neenah provides students in the Neenah Joint School District with enhanced educational opportunities. Since its inception, the Educational Foundation has awarded numerous grants based on a diverse mix of academic areas throughout our school district. Profiles of historical EFN grants in terms of academic area and school types are listed below.
ELEMENTARY
LAKEVIEW SCHOOL “GREAT AMARYLLIS RACE”
Each classroom participated in a science/math experiment involving the growth of a blooming amaryllis. A variety of age-appropriate learning activities provided multiple learning opportunities for each grade level.
WASHINGTON SCHOOL LENDING LIBRARY STRUCTURE
The necessary materials were supplied for the creation of a lending library to benefit all students.
LAKEVIEW/ROOSEVELT SCHOOL SUMMER BACKPACK PROGRAM
Backpacks containing math workbooks, puzzles and games were provided to students for summer use. Weekly assignments involved the collaboration of teachers, students and parents.
SPRING ROAD SCHOOL LITERARY FIELD TRIP
All fifth-graders read the book “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio and attended the movie to form a media vs. book analysis. This provided the students with the opportunity to use the higher level thinking skills of analysis, syntheses, and evaluation.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
SHATTUCK “CONUNDRUM CORNER”
A classroom laboratory, consisting of a workbench and science kits, was created out of underutilized space. Students can research, practice, and model all sorts of problems and then present their findings to the class.
SHATTUCK ROCKET READY INCENTIVES
This program was designed to teach and reinforce lessons on good behavior, anti-bullying and respect for each other and the school.
HIGH SCHOOL
NEENAH SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
The equipment was provided for student teams to compete at regional and state competitions.
NEENAH MUSIC PROGRAM
A set of classroom guitars was purchased for use by all music classes at the high school.
