Learning Support Services Referrals (LSSRs) are solution oriented. When students develop learning, emotional, behavioral, or health challenges that restrict their success at school, the Neenah Schools respond with support and intervention. A Learning Support Services Referral (LSSR) is begun when a problem needs to be resolved, or when a more lasting difficulty needs to be managed.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 are Federal laws that address the rights of individuals with disabilities. IDEA is a federal funding statute that provides limited financial aid to states to ensure adequate and appropriate services for children with disabilities. Section 504 is a broad civil rights law that protects the rights of individuals with disabilities in programs and activities of entities that receive federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Education.
