The physical education program is aligned with the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for Wellness Education with a strong emphasis on wellness, lifetime activities and health-related fitness.
All students are required to take freshmen Physical Education for .5 credit. The remaining 1.0 graduation credit, two more .5 courses, must be divided over sophomore, junior, and senior years. Students are highly recommended to maintain a healthy active lifestyle by taking additional physical education electives beyond requirements.
All students are integrating technology utilizing heart rate monitors, pedometers, and Welnet fitness assessment software. This software incorporates technology to accurately evaluate student fitness levels. The Welnet software offers a variety of tracking and assessment tools to measure the five components of fitness. Students will develop personalized health and fitness portfolios and create customized exercise and nutrition programs. Students and parents will be able to access trend reports on their student’s health-related fitness through their individualized student website with student login credentials.
