NEENAH JOINT SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING PROCEDURES
1. The Board of Education normally meets at 7:00 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month. Special meetings may be called and/or meeting days changed because of extenuating circumstances.
2. Regular Meeting - The first meeting of each month is an action meeting in which all items on the agenda are considered and voted upon by all members of the Board in attendance.
3. Open Forum - The first item of business on the agenda following the roll call for all regularly scheduled Board meetings is the Open Forum. Citizens of the community are invited to ask questions or to make their concerns known to members of the Board during this portion of the meeting.
4. Audience Participation - Members of the audience are not permitted to ask questions or to make comments to the Board during the meeting except during the Open Forum.
5. Committee of the Whole - The meeting of the Board held on the third Tuesday of the month is called the meeting of the “Committee of the Whole.” Items placed on the agenda for this meeting, with the exception of those items under the “Official Action” section, are considered by committees only. Members of the standing committees consider the agenda items and take action to have the items placed on the agenda for consideration by the total Board at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting (normally the first meeting of the month). All members of the Board may enter into discussion of items being presented to committees, but may not vote on items appearing on the agenda under committee headings.
